Expertise:

Gwen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#10937) who specializes in working with teens and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, situational stress at work or school, and interpersonal relationship challenges. She addresses a wide range of mental health concerns and brings a depth of experience and empathy to her work with individuals navigating life’s difficulties.

In addition to her clinical work, Gwen serves as a supervisor to therapists working toward licensure at Campbell Teen & Family Therapy, Inc., where she plays a key role in shaping the professional growth of emerging clinicians.

Gwen’s extensive background includes working as a Social Work Officer on active military duty during deployment in Iraq, providing mental health care in high-stress and trauma-related environments. She has also offered disaster and crisis mental health services through the American Red Cross and spent many years serving children and families in Santa Clara County who were impacted by child abuse and neglect.

Her experience further includes offering support to both birth and adoptive parents through independent and agency adoption processes, giving her a broad perspective on family dynamics and developmental transitions.

Gwen utilizes a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, meditation, and relaxation techniques. She believes in creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported in exploring challenges, building coping skills, and moving toward meaningful personal goals.

By forming a strong therapeutic alliance and working together with her clients, Gwen empowers them to discover new skills and find greater satisfaction in life.
