Emily Itatani, LCSW

Expertise:

Emily Itatani is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping children, teens, adults and families navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. Emily believes that therapy should be a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered to create meaningful change. She is committed to building genuine relationships with her clients and strives to create an environment where they can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgement.

Emily brings over six years of experience supporting children, adolescents and families in educational and community-based settings. As a school social worker, she provided individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment, social-emotional support and collaborated closely with families, educators, and community providers to help students thrive both academically and emotionally. Her experience in case management has further strengthened her ability to coordinate care, connect clients with resources, and advocate for unique needs of individuals and families.

Emily’s therapeutic approach is warm, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. She believes every client already possesses strengths that can serve as the foundation for growth and healing. She works collaboratively with each individual to develop personalized treatment goals while drawing from evidence based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Family Systems, trauma-informed practices, and Person-Centered Therapy. Emily tailors therapy to each client’s unique needs, helping them develop practical coping strategies, increase self-awareness, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with great confidence.

Outside of her work, Emily enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, reading, traveling, and making memories with her husband and their corgi.
