Sarah is an Associate Clinical Social Worker at Campbell Teen & Family Therapy, Inc. She provides individual and family therapy to teens, young adults and parents. She focuses on crisis intervention, trauma-focused behavioral therapy and culturally congruent, family-centered care.
Sarah uses a variety of therapeutic disciplines, including narrative therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and palliative care practices.
Regardless of the intervention she uses, Sarah always creates a warm, supportive and productive therapeutic relationship with her clients.
Prior to joining CTFT, Sarah trained and worked at a variety of clinics and hospitals, including Stanford Hospital ICU, Dignity Health Care Management Department, Hospice of Santa Cruz and the Shiley Institute for Palliative Care.
Before entering the counseling field, Sarah worked in journalism for many years, which included reporting on health policy in communities of color on the Central Coast. Many of the skills Sarah developed as a journalist -- resourcefulness; truth-telling that’s productive but not harmful; and an ability to place individual challenges into an institutional or family context – make her a highly effective social worker.
