Michelle Krause, APCC

Michelle is an Associate Clinical Professional Counselor with a passion for helping children, teenagers, and their families navigate challenging times. She specializes in a variety of mental health issues and has experience with a diverse clientele that includes children of and first generation immigrants, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+.

As a parent of two (now college-age adults), Michelle has a unique understanding of teenagers’ struggles as well as how their family is in a unique position to help them navigate these difficult times. With special interests in attachment and communication, Michelle’s guiding principle is looking at the client as part of a larger system.

Prior to joining Campbell Teen & Family Therapy, Inc., Michelle worked in a partial hospitalization setting treating teens and adults who had eating disorders. While there, she helped her clients address correlated or co-occurring concerns, such as: abuse, adversity, anxiety, bicultural and monocultural value differences, body image, depression, PTSD, relationships and communication, self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma.

Since Michelle continues to see a lot of clients who have experienced trauma or struggle to communicate their needs, she uses a person-centered approach that integrates a variety of techniques and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a scientifically proven modality used to help clients recover from a variety of traumatic events and has the highest recommendation in most clinical practice guidelines.
