John Souchak, LMFT

John Souchak is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He graduated from Pacifica University with a MA in Depth Psychology in 2013. Prior to this, he earned a BA from Penn State University (1985) and an MA from Colorado State University (2006). In 2019, he became a licensed Marriage Family Therapist (MFC 116681).

John has experience working with individuals and families in a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, and family conflict. His approach draws from CBT, humanistic, Jungian/imaginal, and Gestalt theories.

John believes that therapy is often a space for listening, sometimes for guidance, but always for deep acceptance and kindness. When beginning a therapeutic relationship with a client, John strives for trust and rapport above all, giving space for the client to express their hopes, fears, struggles, and strengths. After the relationship is built, John will at times be an active witness to a client’s suffering and healing, but at other times, will be more direct and take the form of a coach or mentor. Regardless of the role needed, John treats every client with the utmost respect, remains curious, and helps the client to build confidence to make the changes they want and need to assist in their healing and growth.
