Martha Perez is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated with a Masters in Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her undergraduate degree at Santa Clara University, earning a Bachelors in Science in Psychology with a minor in Ethnic Studies. Before registration, from 2012-2019, Martha worked with a diverse population from young children, families, adults, and the elderly through her work in various nonprofit organizations and public education in the capacity of a social worker and behavioral therapist. Martha is EMDR trained.
Martha is bilingual in Spanish, which has bridged her work with Latino families. However, her cultural humility has allowed her to connect with people of other backgrounds.
Martha completed a yearlong traineeship at YWCA of Silicon Valley. She effectively worked with a wide range of elementary students to adults. All who had experienced loss and trauma such as behavioral problems, abandonment, divorce, separation/ divorce, infidelity, depression, anxiety, sexual assault, and PTSD. Martha also co-lead a group at ALAS of middle school age students who recently immigrated from Central America. In her work, Martha practice play therapy, art therapy, mindfulness, reflective listening, and empathetic skills. She was able to help individuals better process and cope with their trauma and improve their lives.
