Lucia brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about eating disorders, having previously served as a clinical director at Cielo House, a group of residential and outpatient eating disorder treatment centers in the San Francisco Bay area.
Lucia is trained in DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) and RO-DBT (radically open dialectical behavioral therapy).
DBT is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that’s been proven to be highly effective for people who have trouble managing strong emotions and problem behaviors. A spin-off to DBT is RO-DBT. It’s a fairly new approach that’s been shown to be effective with people with anorexia and OCD.
In addition, Lucia has trained with the Affirmative Couch, an organization that provides ongoing education and training to psychotherapists looking to gain greater competence in their work with the LGBTQIA+ population.
